Educating CEOs Worldwide on How the Triggering Event Adds Business Value

It is not an uncommon belief among advisors that owners do not want to talk about exit.  In fact, you likely feel this same way.  Exit is a dirty word, right?  WRONG.

99% of surveyed business owners agreed with this statement:

“Having a transition exit strategy is important to both my personal future and the future of my business.”

So, 99% know and may even want to be exit ready.

“Think of an owner’s business like a tomato garden they are growing in their backyard, and exit is the act of plucking the fruit off the vine without ruining the plant,” says Scott Snider during his main stage speech at the Arizona Owners Forum, “No one grows a beautiful, fruit-bearing tomato plant to never harvest the fruit.  As an owner myself, I want to grow my business now and I want to harvest the value when I’m ready.”

That said, advisors certainly do have one thing right: Owners are not exit ready.

Transition rates show low success and all recent report findings in the State of Owner Readiness research show that despite agreeing that transition strategy is important, few owners are doing anything about it.

Why?  Lack of education on exit strategy itself.
